Tsa-Kwa-Luten (“Saw-kwa-loo-tan”) Lodge is a magical place where legends live in a land of salmon, eagles, killer whales, soaring mountain peaks, swirling tidal waters and lush evergreen forests.

Tsa-Kwa-Luten Lodge offers privacy and seclusion within an 1100 acre forest on the southern tip of Quadra Island, just a 10 minute ferry from downtown Campbell River. The oceanfront location offers spectacular views of historic Discovery Passage and the upper reaches of the Beaufort mountain range.

Walk the trail to nearby Cape Mudge Lighthouse established in 1898 then on to Nuyumbalees Cultural Centre (Kwagiulth Museum) in Cape Mudge Village. Outdoor activities include marine wildlife and fall grizzly tours, kayaking, fishing, hiking trails and complimentary mountain bicycles.


Resort

Privacy and seclusion within an 1100 acre forest on the southern tip of Quadra Island, just a 10 minute ferry from downtown Campbell River. All King, Queen, Double or Loft type accommodations feature ocean views as well as a variety of beachfront cottages. This environmentally friendly nature-based facility include complimentary Internet kiosk, sauna, hot tub, and relaxation therapies.

RV Park

Thirteen fully serviced RV sites (ten oceanview sites, two beachfront sites and one group site) nestled in naturally landscaped settings along the shore of Discovery Passage. Each site has a picnic table, campfire pit, and complete hookup facilities. Free hot showers and laundry are available at the Park service/office building.

Hama Elas Restaurant

Tsa-Kwa-Luten's ocean view dining room, lounge area and terrace offer guests a varied selection of local Native and gourmet west coast cuisine in an atmosphere of casual elegance.

Spa

Relaxation Massage, Therapeutic Bodywork, Seniors Relaxation Therapy and Reflexology are all available at this unique island retreat designed to renew your soul.

Art Gallery & Gift Shop

Exclusive Lodge line of clothing, authentic native arts and crafts including silver jewellery, delicately carved masks and boxes, adult and baby moccasins, leatherwork, authentic native music, matted and framed prints, arts cards, umbrellas and more.

Bear Watching

A wildlife viewing experience of a lifetime. Journey to the Orford River Valley to observe magnificent grizzly bears as they feast of spawning salmon. Enjoy marvellous Coastal BC scenery as you travel by covered boat to Bute Inlet then transfer to a van that takes you to the viewing platforms. A fully trained Homolco First Nations Guide greets your arrival into the area and ensures guest safety. Tour length is approximately 8 hours and includes lunch.

Whale Watching

Go where the whales are. Observe a variety of species of resident and transient whales from the comfort of a covered cruiser.

Kayaking

Experience a full day of kayaking (with lunch) on the magical waters surrounding Quadra Island.

Boating

Take breathtaking trip exploring some of the fastest flowing ocean rapids in the world in the waters surrounding Quadra Island.

Fishing

If you're heading to Vancouver Island with the intent to go Salmon or Halibut fishing, Tsa-Kwa-Luten lodge is an excellent base for your trip. Our Front Desk Staff are happy to book a fishing charter with a local and well respected Fishing Guide. After a day of fishing, return to the Lodge to enjoy a refreshing beverage in our lounge and a succulent dinner in the warm and inviting ambiance of our dining room. Ask about our chef's "Catch and Cook" option; a delicious way to savour your day.

Hiking and Walks

Step into the magical world of tranquil beauty as you meander through 1.5 km of the forest which has guarded this land for thousands of years. Refer to our Guide Book for fascinating clues to both Nature's secrets and the impact of the human influence as you make your way to the historic cliffs of Cape Mudge - site of the Coast Salish village visited by Captain George Vancouver in 1792.
