Aboriginal Arts and Culture Day 2017

Nations Creations & Abbotsford Arts Council is hosting a free family event Sunday June 4, 2017 from 1:00 pm- 5:00 pm located at 2387 Ware Street, Abbotsford. In recognition of Aboriginal Awareness Month, Nations Creations & Abbotsford Arts Council is honored to present the 2nd Annual Aboriginal Arts and Culture Day, an opportunity for the community to come and learn about Aboriginal arts, culture, history and traditions.  Attendees will have the rare and unique opportunity to watch Aboriginal artists create their work on site and purchase directly from the artist.   Nations Creations Center Stage will feature traditional Sto:lo story teller Dr. Naxaxaaklhts’l (Sonny McHalsie), Elder Eddie Gardner of Wild Salmon Defenders, Metis Elder Rene Inkster, Matsqui Youth drumming group, hoop dancer Gary Abbott, as well as other drummers and dancers.  Artist-in-Residence Raphael Silver will be outside carving a post as part of the Canada 150 Celebrations. So come on down and learn and enjoy our unique Aboriginal & Metis arts and culture experience.
