Meares Island Tour (4 hours)

Explore Meares Island by canoe. This island is in the traditional territory of the Tla-o-qui-aht people, and was an abundant source of resources for them. Having never been logged, there are many culturally modified trees on Meares Island, along with a wealth of edible indigenous plant life. Our guides are expert in these areas and will provide guests with an educational and enjoyable afternoon in the 10,000-year-old forest. Occasionally during the summer, the Tofino area is subject to strong Northwesterly winds. During these conditions, we often recommend going sailing in our canoes, as paddling in these winds can be more work than fun! Sailing is an exciting way to see the Sound, and a wonderful experience everyone can share.
