Aboriginal Performances & Workshops

Among many of the First Nations, traditionally the only things they owned were names, their songs, and dances. Elders teach their children their dances and songs, storytellers pass on the stories and legends of the long ago time, and skilled craftspeople and artists still carve totem poles and masks, weave baskets, and make drums. The local indigenous people are renowned worldwide for their artisan skills. Many of the local artists willingly teach others to weave, carve, or make drums through workshops and skilled dance groups, singers, and drummers will gladly perform for guests.
