Cultural Centres & Museums

Throughout British Columbia there are regional museums and cultural centers that showcase aboriginal history and aboriginal culture.  Many of them house the archeological treasures of their people, historical artifacts, and the works of great artists. They share the histories of our people, and show you the houses they lived in before contact, ranging from longhouses to pit houses or teepees and teach you about potlatches and pow wows.   Some teach skills like drum making or weaving and others are performance centres.  All welcome the public and invite travelers to learn the wisdom of the elders and the lessons of history.
