Sweat Lodge Ceremony (2 nights)
Powell River is surrounded on three sides by the sea and on the fourth by the spectacular snow-capped Coast Mountains and is accessible only by water or air, even though it is part of British Columbia’ mainland. Aboriginal archaeological sites with lithic scatters, representing hunting locations and short-term campsites, date back 8,000 – 11,000 BC. This coastal rainforest is considered one of the best places to view sea lions, seals, eagles and seabirds in their natural surroundings and is well known for its abundance of fish, crab, clams and oysters.
The Sweat Lodge Ceremony is presented in a traditional working environment to ensure a total First Nations cultural immersion. The tour package includes a traditional medicines hike and a shore barbecue lunch. Accommodations are available in teepees at the ceremony site or in the historic fishing village of Lund at the Lund Hotel.
