The spectacular Nk’Mip Desert Cultural Centre (pronounced in-ka-meep) is the Okanagan’s newest family tourism destination.

Cultural Centre - The state-of-the-art interpretive centre is an architectural marvel sensitively constructed into a hillside. Extensive indoor and outdoor exhibit galleries create a fun, interactive learning environment with hands-on displays, education stations and two multi-media theatre experiences.

A family oriented cultural experience focusing on the rich, living culture of the Okanagan First Nations and the unique flora and fauna of their traditional territory’s desert habitat. The 22-hectare site features cultural exhibits, walking trails, outdoor sculptures and hands-on interactive displays. Highlights include a reconstructed Aboriginal village, two theatre experiences and “Critter’s Corner” animal exhibits.

Gift Shop - Coyote’s Gifts is an authentic First Nations gift store carrying a wide selection of merchandise for everyone from young children to discerning adults. Beautifully crafted housewares, books on First Nations and nature topics, aboriginal recording artists, and Canadian edibles are only a fraction of what our store has to offer. We also carry apparel and authentic Pendleton blankets, which come in an array of colors and designs.

Hiking and Walking Tours - Daily guided walks and rattlesnake talks offered from July through September.
