
Member of the Akisqnuk First Nation. Currently serving as President and CEO of Akisqnuknik Development Corporation, a management company specializing in building tourism-based products that encompass Ktunaxa values in its core business base, and generates wealth and profit for its members.
Akisqnuknik Development Corporation is a subsidiary of the Akisqnuk First Nation. ADC currently manages, on behalf of the Akisqnuk First Nation, the Lakeshore Resort and Campground and Chisel Peak Guide Outfitting and Eco Tours.
Lakeshore Resort and Campground - a 150 unit campground located on the shores of Lake Windermere offering daily, weekly and monthly camping, as well as yearly lot rentals. Plans for the re-development of Lakeshore Resort and Campground are underway and an exciting tourism product is anticipated.
Chisel Peak Guide Outfitters and Eco Tours - We have exclusive guiding rights on approximately 500 square miles of the Rocky Mountains in the southeastern corner of British Columbia. We hunt on horseback from cabins and tent camps in remote areas. The professional care of our clients is our main concern.
Our Eco-tours and guided walks are held throughout the year and can be organized to suit all types of groups and levels of fitness, from easy 3 hour guided walks to 3 day mountain excursions into remote mountain areas.
Other professional and personal achievements include:
• The development and design of of the “Cultures in Contact” Exhibition in conjunction with Parks Canada at the Radium Visitors Centre.
• Development and implementation of Traditional Use Sites Inventory Project with the Invermere Forest District.
• Update of the Archaeological Sites Inventory within the Invermere Forest District.
• Involved in cross-cultural education since 1993 within the context of government and the forest industry of southeastern BC.
• Foster Parent to 13 children from 1983 - 2009.
• Taught 4 components of the First Nations Tourism Program with College of the Rockies i 1995/1996.
