AtBC Wows Crowds at Vancouver’s Canada Day Parade

July 4, 2011

The Aboriginal Tourism Association of BC was a proud part of the third annual Canada Day Parade in downtown Vancouver Friday evening. More than 120,000 spectators lined Georgia and Burrard Streets, cheering and waving for Princess Klahowya, performers from the Spirit Catcher Train, dancers in regalia and the West Coast Sightseeing tour bus wrapped with AtBC’s Klahowya Village branding.

“It was a great crowd, a great event and great visibility for AtBC,” said Keith Henry, CEO, AtBC. Henry rode in the branded West Coast Sightseeing tour bus and had a first-hand view of the crowds. “I was impressed by the number of people watching. These were families, tourists and locals, and right in our target demographic. I know AtBC made a great impression they won’t soon forget, and I expect we’ll be seeing a lot of those faces from the parade at Klahowya Village this summer.”

The third annual Canada Day Parade in downtown Vancouver featured more than 50 colourful community entries and the largest crowds to date. Not-for-profit associations, like AtBC, paid no entry fees to participate in the parade.
